The House System

The House System

Each House comprises of a Head of House and Deputy Head of House, assisted by a team of form tutors and a front team of selected senior pupils who are trained in the care and support of younger pupils. It is these people who monitor the progress of the whole person – in academic, pastoral and extra-curricular areas. It is from this basis that SEN, or any other form of support, is delivered.

A pupil’s House provides the basis for their belonging to the school. It is a place for integration and challenge. The House system engenders terrific team spirit and develops loyalty and friendly competition. All pupils will represent their House at some point, whether on the sports field, in drama or music performances, in science, chess, maths competitions or in a host of other events.

The House also provides an important focus for learning, for setting goals and celebrating achievement.
