Headmaster's Introduction

I am delighted to have this opportunity to introduce Adams' Grammar School to you and thank you for visiting our website.

Adams is a vibrant, exciting place to be, for pupils and staff alike, and I hope you will gain some sense of that through your browsing.

At Adams' we have a number of aims: providing an outstanding learning experience is at the heart of everything we do, both inside and outside of the classroom.  We want to stimulate an intellectual passion in our pupils which they will then communicate to others in turn.

We aim to educate the whole person, developing fully rounded individuals, by encouraging them to broaden their experiences and pursue both new and existing interests to the highest possible standard.  There is a vast range of extra-curricular activities available for them to enjoy.

Our students' personal development is also important to us.  We encourage them from an early age to take responsibility for themselves, for their environment and, when appropriate, for others too. We nurture leadership qualities in our students and the high moral values and communication skills which are essential for this.  We want them to be competitive but also cooperative in spirit and caring about each other.

Pupils must be given the chance to learn about themselves and reflect on how their actions impact on others.  We expect the highest standards of behaviour, respect for each other and for their community.

The celebration of success is important to us.  We take every opportunity to applaud and commend our pupils for their successes, whether they be at house, school, regional or national level.  Our pupils are an inspiration to many others around them.

Education is a lifelong journey, and we have the privilege of being able to prepare young men and women for the next part of that journey.  If you share our values and aims and are interested to learn more about Adams' then I invite you to pay us a visit, meet some of our insprational pupils and spend some time with us in school.  I will be delighted to discuss your individual interests and concerns for your child and organise a tour. Please call us, we will be very happy to make the necessary arrangements.

We look forward to welcoming you.
