Since September 2009, AGSS have purchased or contributed towards around £5,000 worth of items for the school for various departments. These include:

* 2 hockey goal keeper kits
* 2 3-decimal place balances for new AS and A2 level practical Chemistry exams
* Donation towards the purchase of textbooks in order to deliver Mechanics 5 course in Mathematics
* Intercom facilities for the light and sound operations in the control area of the Performing Arts Centre
* Funds towards the Young Enterprise Scheme
* Replacement and repair of various CCF equipment and Marching Band equipment
* Cost of repair to a Wall Clock from the library which dates back to 1900.

Dr Nicholls from the Chemistry Department asked if AGSS could help with the purchase of two 3-decimal place balances for new AS and A2 level practical exams to increase accuracy marks in practical assessmets. The picture shows students benefitting from the donation from AGSS for the purchase of the balances.

The AGSS were approached at very short notice when the PE Department were given the opportunity to purchase an amazing set of gym equipment and were pleased to donate funds towards this. The picture shows just a small selection of the equipment we were able to help fund.

New books for the school library to appeal to all ages and tastes, to encourage reading for enjoyment,

Following the opening of the new Science Block, the existing Chemistry Lab, SC3 looked a little shabby so with the help of a donation from AGSS funds, the school was able to refurbish the classroom to a higher standard.

Waitrose have committed to organising a fund raising event for AGSS for 5 years. This follows the event held in February 2008. The money raised from these events is ear-marked for the upkeep of Adams' Grammar School Mini-bus. The event for 2009 was held on Thursday 26th February and £450.40 was raised on the evening. Massive thanks to everyone involved.

A donation from AGSS has allowed the Physics department to recently purchase 12 Ranger Power Supplies and 6 Power Signal Generators. The Ranger Power Supplies are a universal piece of Physics apparatus used by every year group on a nearly weekly basis. They provide a controllable low voltage (0-15 volts) output (both AC and DC) at currents up to 8 Amps. Mr Hunt and Mr Smith gave up their time to give members of the AGSS a practical demonstration of the apparatus, complete with sparks!

The Fashion Show organised jointly by the Adams' Grammar School Charity Committee and AGSS held on Thursday 16th April 2008 raised a total net profit of £640. £450 donated to Breast Cancer Campaign and £190 to the AGSS. Many thanks to Divas and the fantastic models on the night, the various stallholders and to everyone who attended or helped in any way to make the evening such a success.
