The first meeting for the 2010/2011 Academic year -

Tuesday 14th September 2010 at 7.15pm

The AGM will be held in October 2010 - date to be notified and we would welcome new parents to join us, or if you have been at the school for a while and would like to join us, all would be very welcome.

If you are attending for the first time, please confirm the date and venue by emailing the Committee at agssociety@hotmail.co.uk.

We very much look forward to seeing you and really need your ideas and help. If you are not a 'Committee person' or can't attend regular meetings, please contact us via our email address at agssociety@hotmail.co.uk as there are other ways you can help, as much or as little as you like.

Please come along and join us.

Our Officers for the 2009/2010 academic year, elected at the October 2009 AGM are:

Joint Chair/Treasurer Jan Griffiths

I was elected Treasurer of the AGSS Committee in October 2007 having been involved with the Committee since September 2005 when Ben started at the school. In October 2008, I was voted in as Joint Chair with Lou Taylor and still remain as Treasurer.

I got involved in the AGSS to get to know some other parents from the school and it has worked - the committee welcome everyone to the meetings so please don't be 'shy' about getting involved. When the committee then required a new treasurer, as a qualified accountant, how could I say no!

I live in Telford with my husband Grant, Ben and occasionally his elder sister Laura (who is at University).

Joint Chair/Treasurer
Jan Griffiths

Joint Chair Louise Taylor

I joined the AGSS in October 2006 taking on the role of Secretary at the first meeting! In October 2008, I was voted in as Joint Chair with Jan Griffiths. I have two boys at Adams' and as both boys board, I was keen to develop closer links with school and get to know other parents. I thoroughly enjoy being part of the AGSS - it is very rewarding being able to help fund additional equipment and activities which benefit all students. I have made some very good friends on the committee and have got to know teachers better through AGSS. We work hard but we are a fun committee who all get on extremely well - it is well worth the effort.

I live near Market Drayton with my husband (Mike) and our two boys (Will and Ed) - that is when they are home from Adams!. I work as an independent business consultant which keeps me fairly busy but I enjoy riding, ski-ing, tennis, gardening, cooking and watching silly DVDs with the boys.

Joint Chair
Louise Taylor

Vice Chair, Sue Grindrod

I joined the AGSS Committee in the summer of 2008 and became Vice-Chair as of October 2008!

My eldest son Matthew is in Year 10 and my youngest, William, is in Year 8. Joining AGSS seemed appropriate once I knew that both boys would be attending the school, especially since both are boarders theoretically giving me more time and fewer excuses.

The Committee is friendly and supportive and works extremely hard in the interests of the school and its pupils. It is an excellent way to become involved with the school and there is always a role to play, however large or small you want it to be.

I live in Telford with my husband, Tony, and also Matthew and William when they are prepared to come home from Adams! I am a solicitor in sole practice, which keeps me busy for most of the rest of my time.

Secretary, Ann Marie Brown.
